Fort Cornwallis

Meet my boyfriend in the previous life, Captain Francis Light.

Captain Francis Light – He’s actually the founder of the British colony of Penang in 1786. The Fort was built initially with nibong (palm trunk) stockade with no permanent structures, covering an area of 417.6 sq. ft. And it was only during Colonel R.T. Farquhar’s term as Governor of Penang in 1804 that the fort was rebuilt with bricks and stones by convict labor dispatched from India.

The construction of Fort Cornwallis was completed in 1810 during Norman Macalister’s term as the Governor of Penang with the cost of about 80,000 Spanish Dollars.

This’s one of the traditional game call “Congkak”. I wanted to teach Paul how to play this game but somehow, i got confuse. Not my fault…..it’s been a long time i don’t play Congkak :lol:

After we finish explore Fort Cornwallis, we walk around to see what’s nice in Penang.

I think we lost in Little India. I just guessing because there’s so much indian shops around.

This temple located opposite Dhammikarama Burmese Buddhist Temple.

Dhammikarama Burmese Buddhist Temple

This temple remind me of Chiang Mai a lot. I love the paintings inside the temple and this temple look very lovely & interesting.

I took a lot photo in this temple. I have to admit….Paul is very funny. When I asked him to help me to take photos; he asked me funny question, “Are you sure you are not Japanese?” :roll: What kind of question is that? Fine, i love being inside the photos especially if i surround by lovely things. Who doesn’t, right? 8-)

I didn’t put any sunblock cream because i only use it when i’m in the beach and now….my skin slightly darker :-|

Nevermind. Paul never complain….yet 8-)
