The weather was perfect and the city lights looked pretty. (The waterfalls were still lit when we arrived but my pictures are a bit out of focus to post)


I went with my ex-girlfriend. It’s funny how when we were going out, it would bother her that I was friends with my previous ex-gf’s. Now, the shoe is on the other foot. Cute, huh?

Each year my friends produce a huge four day concert. 2008 was the 13th annual Gathering of the Vibes. My daughter has been to many of these throughout the years, starting as a newborn in 1995. Every year, I am lucky to be a VIP guest. Check out this gallery of 36 images from this awesome event in Bridgeport Connecticut. I think you will really like to see this amazingly colorful scene from the U.S.

This event is an occasion to catch some fantastic music for days on end. Nights end sometime after 4 or 5am the next day and start again as soon as the sun heats up your tent ’til you can’t stand it. Basically, soon after brushing your teeth in the morning, the drinking games start. Our camp had a completely empty table just for beer pong. We lounged around all day, walking to the stage for a few hours at a time, since music starts at 11am and goes until very late in the night. Many campers host guitar circles, late-night discos and just about every possible form of consumption you can imagine. We saw fire-dancers one night around 2am that mesmerized my friends. I believe I may have walked 50 miles during the weekend, despite repeatedly catching a lift on a friend’s cart.

While you are peacefully resting I am getting ready to take off with some friends for New York City.

We are going to the Highline Ballroom to meet up with several friends for a Papa Grows Funk show.
One of my friends is a keyboard player in a band and he has been friends with these guys for years. I think they were in a band together a long time ago. I have heard this band many times. Interestingly enough I am starting to hear it on the radio lately.

I will think of you tonight, since we spent so long on Yahoo Messenger today. Today for me, all night for you. I think you may have fallen asleep with the chat window open. So cute.

I don’t feel like carrying my camera tonight but I’ll bring my phone for what it’s worth… and maybe I can share it with you here tomorrow.

Ok my friend, I wonder if you will wake up before I go out tonight… so odd considering you have already lived Friday night in the city and mine hasn’t even begun.

PS: My friend that is driving us to the city is an alcoholic who likes to drive his girlfriend’s car at 128kph which makes me really nervous and uncomfortable. If I die, keep writing! lol. I’ll have to add – that you own this domain name. I wonder what kind of sense of humor you have? (I’ve already arranged for a nice slow-driving, more respectful friend to drive home. I just can’t risk the chance to wreck when I have a daughter… and you! I am taking care of myself for you already ;) ) thank you for being nice since we met.
