So, is it true? Today is the first day of Autumn…? It’s likely our most beautiful of seasons here on the East Coast. All our hardwood trees are about to turn a brilliant shade. I’m certain to update this blog with more pictures of yellow and orange soon. I love October.

Fall is the perfect weather for outdoor walks with Lana, who is often my partner by day. There are none more familiar with the passenger side of my Toyota. During the past week we’ve stopped while driving to watch some animals. Here are two shots from the past week, showing my puppy intently watching some local fauna.

Look at my lovely yellow bitch. Isn’t she beautiful? This dog is such a good-natured animal. She is sweet and gentle and listens well. In about 7 months she’ll breed with another purebred Labrador Retriever and sometime around June 2009 we’ll be expecting.

While I was walking Lana yesterday, I found something interesting in the dog park. Here is what happens to your hair when it falls out… This phone snap-shot displays a bird’s nest made almost entirely from dog hair. Apparently some thrifty birds near the dog park found the hair of dog to make a decent structure.

Even though I left at noon on Friday, I didn’t get home from the casino until 4am Saturday. I woke up around 9:30 and went into town. Look at the lovely Cherry blossoms falling from the trees in the gallery below.

I took the doggy for a walk in the park as you can see. I wanted you to see a plant called skunk cabbage so I took a picture. It’s a short plant. When it’s new or if you break it then it smells like a skunk. For some reason, I like it.
When we came out to the fields there were many cars parked. Many children were playing soccer and all the parents came out to see. They all park on the grass where it says; No Parking.

I had to drive from the park across town to a church grounds to pick up my daughter from the May Fair. When I was a kid, I went to this same fair with my friends from school. I remember growing too old for this fair too. That happened about two years ago when I got real dizzy on the hang-glider ride. Nah, it’s cool. I still love rides!

Who knows what will happen on Sunday?… oh yes, Sunday is Mother’s Day. We are going to a country club for brunch with another family. It should be…hmmm, story to follow.

Magnolia, Maple, Dogwood and a dog.

Hi Nadiana,

I wanted to share this picture of the same Star Magnolia tree because it has only been a short time since my last picture of it but the flowers are now completely gone. The Magnolia is done blooming and has turned green, while the dogwood is just coming into it’s full glorious white color!

Here is a Japanese Maple with such a furry look to it.. Yeah, I don’t know why I always take pictures of trees… I like them. I heard some lyrics in a song today: “The trees can forgive me, why can’t you?”

Of course man’s best friend is also quite forgiving.. This one is just lying there waiting for me to finish work.

Saturday photos and a Dalai Lama tattoo.

Hi,
Yesterday I went to a nearby town to meet a friend who was raising awareness about animal care at a local juice bar. I parked my truck a few blocks away and before visiting Tim I stopped for a crepe at a place that makes the most delicious things! OMG!!!! I’m sorry I had to eat some before taking a picture because it was beautifully served. I didn’t think to share it with you until after I realized how good it was. This crepe is called “The Saxophone” and had bananas, cinnamon, walnuts, honey and whipped cream. Along with the cappuccino and some water, it was a fine breakfast!

As I head down the street, with my dog on her leash, this tattoo caught eye and I immediately thought of our brief conversations here about China and Tibet. Look at this tattoo! I am not certain who this is in the picture… Can you tell me who you think it is? I poked my head inside the shop to ask if taking a photo was cool, I didn’t ask who’s face it is!

A few doors down I came to these people talking to anyone who would listen about adopting stray dogs and cats. There are many homeless pets, needing loving owners. At this little cafe there was a Tarot Card reader, an “Animal Communicator” and other entertaining folks along with information on adoption and better ways to care for our pets… in a more holistic manner. Do you know that some people make food for their pets! I mean, they make a special prepared meal from all organic foods and mix everything together into custom dog food!
