The Promised Land
I’m so excited to be planning a trip to California next year! I’ll be in my favorite and long time home, San Francisco.
Actually I’ll be there in three weeks for an event in Reno, NV. Where I am sure you will eventually visit, Nadiana.
Being in California is great because every weekend you can take a trip to somewhere fascinating, adventurous and thrilling.
Some examples might be;
- Lunch in Guerneville and cocktails on the beach in Jenner. Seals, driftwood and a flowing delta.
- Exploration of Mt. Shasta – volcanic, glacier-covered wilderness wonderland!
- Searching for Gold along the American River ~ panning, 4×4, abandoned mines
- Surfing many spots from S.F. to Halfmoon Bay
- Horseback riding along the beach, overnight camping, nudists!
- Experience Mendocino up to Humboldt ~ Stop at Crater Lake
- Boating the Bay Area ~ by Kayak from Richmond Bay
- Lake Tahoe ~ Alpine beauty + Skiing + Gambling!
- Yosemite through to Mammouth Hot Springs!!!!!!! nothing better in life!
I lived along G.G. Park for nearly 10 years. I spent ten years walking, riding and exploring every inch of that park and never had enough.
Nadiana, you are moving to the best place in the U.S. It’s lively, fun, fairly friendly and totally fascinating environment. There’s tons of Culture in the city ~ including Chinese stores without a single written word of English in them and food products I had never seen before and hope to never see again. lol. jealous! I’m entirely jealous. You will love it. There are even plenty of mosques.
I’ve got to get back to my workshop. I’m working on a Frank Lloyd Wright house again, making some pieces today in the shop that will be in use, hopefully, for another 50 years.
My hot neighbors are all out sunbathing in bikinis right now… and I have to work. hmmm… oh to be young and moving to California again!

Wow, seem like fun. I think the 1st thing i want to visit apart of visitting mummy (Paul mother) is museums. I love history and museum is fun place to visit. Anyway, don’t forget you have to come to SF to be my witness on my wedding :-p
Which Frank Lloyd Wright house are you working on? Are you doing carpentry for a renovation or minor repairs?
Thanks for the info.
Please respond via email if you can.
I wanna go to your wedding toooooo..
HAHAHAHA
i must be psychic because after i posted this… i realized i forgot to mention some cultural activities ~
I’ve done some of these. I’ve biked around Crater Lake a couple of times which is amazing. You can’t go wrong doing things along the coast or in the mountains. Even in the city, you have some nice beaches (Ocean beach, Chrissy Field) you can relax and go swimming or surfing. Nadiana has it so lucky, she just doesn’t know. I may have to take her winter camping to remind her she didn’t end up in some place like South Dakota.
Sayang, i don’t mind to do winter camping as long you going to carry my bag pack
Nani, i just put your name on my wedding guest list. I really hope the USCIS won’t give us so much trouble. I better start praying now
Kim, i love culture and you can mention about it in your next post. Anyway, am i really lucky to move to SF because right now….Virginia look more nicer (Btw, thanks sayang for giving me USA travel guides book
