Party party…
I had the best night out in a long time last night. Woohoo… almost too much fun.
Well, I haven’t been out in a while and last night was a celebration for a friend getting married soon. During the party there was a raffle… you know; buy tickets and the money goes to the new couple plus there is a chance you’ll win something. Of seven prizes, I won three!
Then a group of us played cards into the wee hours of the morning. I only had $8 to buy in but I ended up winning $50.
The best part though was not making new friends, not the loud music and the good cheer… not winning 3 prizes or even the money… all of which was exciting and fun. The part of my evening that will really stick with me.. The part that will leave a mark came when I was inches from the safety of my bed.
For some reason I often leave the lights off and get about my house in the dark. It’s my house, I know where everything is… but I should have known better after walking into a half-open door last year.
I’m digitizing some old cassettes and moved a table in my room closer to the power outlet. Last night, I leaned down to put something on it, missed the table altogether and fell head-first into the very edge of the table. Hahaha… look:
I’ll leave the banter up to you but I must make social commentary now:
I have no health insurance. When I broke my hand last year, it cost me thousands of dollars for nothing. I’d go to the hospital and get some stitches today but it will cost me hundreds of dollars and I just don’t have hundreds of dollars to give them for a few stitches.
Rich people and employees of corporations can get stitches. The poorest people get social services. People in the middle, like me… get scars.

I went to the hospital today. True enough, I couldn’t get stitches for less than $500. If I wanted a “surgeon” it would have cost an unknown amount. Seems they don’t even know how much they charge, they just make a little check mark next to the code for the procedure. Needless to say, I left without seeing a Dr.
How does it work in KL?
If you need to go to the hospital who pays and how much does it cost?
My friend in Canada only pays $25 and they take care of her.
