a moment in time

baby snake Hey,
It’s Tuesday. I have a Dr’s appointment in two hours. I’m home for a few minutes and thought I would write about the nothing that fills my free time.

First picture; There are snakes living under my basement bilco door. There are three shed skins and each time I open the door there is at least one of the babies lounging on the stone. Yes, I find it creepy to pass them only inches away, up and down the stairs. Interestingly enough, I inadvertently killed one somehow. In total darkness, I closed the door one night. The morning light showed one small snake half in half out, nearly cut in two and quite dead. As creepy as snakes are, I felt bad.

pine bench
I finished a bench in my workshop made from a slab of Pine that my friend’s father cut long long ago. It’s been a piece of wood in my storage for almost 10 years. I had to get it out of my way, turned some legs, roughed it down to size and finished it out.

exit 36, rt 15

Have you ever seen the movie, Stepford Wives? Did you know it was filmed here? I live in Stepford and my clients are the Stepford wives. This exit is in the movie. Exit 36.

turtle

Yesterday as I was driving through town I noticed a few people gathered on the sidewalk, talking to a woman who was parking her car. Apparently they were telling her to watch out for this turtle. I picked it up, dropped in my truck and drove it to a park where I placed it in a nice marshy spot.

My job last month is 1/2 complete. Here is the initial treehouse. It’s cool, it’s high, it’s strong and it’s going to provide countless escape, battles, hide-away and adventure for the three boys who live there.

I’ve really got to run, I have a billion things on my plate and I can’t spend a moment online.

I’m looking forward to this week, since completing three jobs this month has afforded many internet orders. I LOVE hearing the UPS truck turn into my driveway… or coming home to a FedEx delivery just waiting to come inside. I got the coolest video camera in a pen. It records mp4 to a 2GB flash drive. New cold weather clothes, new radio with ipod dock, more surveillance cameras, and a few wall mount guitar stands coming soon.

peace.

I don’t feed them. I don’t enjoy them. The weather is getting colder outside. I think they are going to move inside soon, but I REALLY REALLY hope NOT!

I think about this every day because I use this door I don’t know what to do…
Everyone says I need to get rid of them. What does that mean? I don’t even want to see the mama snake. ugh…. wtf.
