I love Thai iced tea.

It’s definitely summertime here in Connecticut. The weather has been perfect for getting tan, sweating one’s butt off at work.. and looking forward to a nice swim.

I’ve just returned from the park where I got into a water fight with a five year old girl. She was really enjoying dumping water on the dogs and when she threatened me with a little bit on the arm.. things quickly got out of control. I came home soaking wet, head-to-toe. Yeah, her mom wasn’t all that happy that we got so wet, but… who cares! Adults are so stupid sometimes. (clinging to their petty anal retentions)
I am so happy it’s f-ing hot! I no longer complain about heat since it’s my belief that it takes much more energy to stay warm in the winter than it does to keep cool in the summer.

My favorite drink: Thai iced Tea!
Thai iced tea

I really love Thai tea but at a restaurant it costs $3-4 for 1 glass, so last year I stopped in an Asian market and picked up some Thai tea in bulk. I think the whole bag was $2 and I have already made 100 cups from it.

What a nice day it is today! After coming home soaking wet, I washed my truck while the dog hid in the shade under some garden plants. I feel healthy, I am tan from working outside and everything seems to be going quite well for me this past week. My social life has picked up.. since I decided one of my friends was too angry all the time and I needed to make some new friends who are more like-minded. Seems to be working as I’ve met three new people in a week. Good times to come, I hope.

I’m heading to Peru to visit Machu Picchu next week. Of course I will bring the camera and 10gigs of memory.

Everyday I am missing Nadiana. I must apologize for not turning on Messenger lately, it’s really not a part of my routine.. but I miss talking to my friend in Malaysia, so I will make an effort to use it… even though my computer is showing signs of old age, like shutting off for no reason, battery won’t charge, won’t hold it’s charge… and strange noises like if I close the laptop, then every 30 seconds it makes the eject disk noise. Even little pieces of the black plastic are breaking off.

ok, love to the world! Greetings to Malaysia, Thailand and China. Hope you guys are good and keeping happy and healthy. …and Nadiana; if eating fruit for 3 days throws you into depression then stick with steak! Peace, darling.

ps, I think we need a new header!

Peru was great! Here’s some photos from a trip I took there a couple years ago:

Paul, Thanks for sharing. I looked at your pics and especially like the condor; pretty frightening looking. ;)
I’m sure to post some images here when I get back.

I like your “notes” on Peru. Mine will also be a family trip with my father and daughter. We are following the same itinerary. Lima-Cusco-Aguas Calientes-Lima.
Our original intention was to go to the Amazon.. but simplified the trip to a week long discovery.

Paul, speaking of Thai tea, my addiction stemmed from weekly visits to a Thai restaurant on Geary Blvd, there in S.F. Have you been to it? I think they have a large teakwood carving just inside the door, though it’s been ten years and may be out of business now. (I know there are a couple on Geary.. can’t remember what cross street, I’m thinking midway to the beach.) Khan Toke?

I’m not familiar with that name but there’s a place on Geary and Larkin I go to sometimes — Thai Express. They have big, abstract paintings along the back wall that are pretty cool. There’s a lot, lot of Thai restaurants in SF though. I can think of 2 others that are close to me.
