Animals in the house and yard.

I’ve had some crazy animal events lately.
My Sh*thead cat has been bringing me gifts of live chipmunks, which I typically become aware of while quietly watching TV and suddenly see one run across the floor. Last week I spent a while safely catching one and letting it go outside, only to have Lana chase it down, grab it in her mouth, flip it up in the air like a toy, breaking it’s cute little neck and killing it. (I watched the final heartbeats and then looked at the dog like; WTF? Was that really necessary?)
In the past month I have chased a half-dozen chipmunks, like this one, out of my house!
In other animal news; I set a trap to see who was destroying my garbage and caught another raccoon. This is a long story but the short of it is; There are only 3 legal things to do with a trapped raccoon: Let it go where you caught it, kill it or call someone else to kill it. (According to local and state authorities it is illegal to transport and release a raccoon somewhere else. They potentially carry Rabies.)
While I walked to the mailbox to get the mail last night, I heard Lana barking in an unusual tone. I returned to see her lying down and nosing a fuzzy bunny. I’m guessing she had just killed and was barking at it because it would no longer “play” with her. Lana didn’t want me taking a picture of her with this kill but I managed to snap one anyway. She was very protective of her score.
Look at my dog chase this doe out of our yard at full sprint. (While I was writing this post!!!)
She came back covered in mud and soaking wet. It’s been raining a lot this Spring.
